The Spokane region is blessed to have some of the most beautiful, well-kept, and completely affordable public access golf courses and playing experiences in the United States. Really! I have had the privilege to have played every track in the area several times and I definitely enjoy playing some courses more than others. So, here’s my list of favorite golf courses in the region…
#1 – The Links Golf Club: Located just across the state line in Post Falls, Idaho, this Scottish links-style track is immaculately groomed with lush green carpet fairways, super fast undulating greens, and deep, soft bunkers. The course is long, often windy in the afternoons, and challenging. But I’ve played some of my best rounds there. Director of Golf Darrell Hull is a gentleman and runs a great operation. Greens Fees: $31 weekdays, $36 weekends.
#2 – MeadowWood Golf Course: MeadowWood in Liberty Lake offers a nice, open golf challenge with a variety of elevation changes and looming water hazards. I love the greens! They’re really well-groomed and roll nicely. As a result, MeadowWood was selected to host the Rosauers Open Invitational in 2016. Head Pro Bob Scott is a great guy. Once he came out and gave me a couple of free swing tips when I was hitting sh*nks on the range before my round and relieved my panic attack! Green Fees: $32 weekdays, $36 weekends.
#3 – The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course: Qualchan offers perhaps the most scenic golf experience in the area. Significant elevation changes, water hazards, and looming pine tees define the track. I particularly like the long par 5 #16 requiring an accurate drive before a long, tempting over-the-water carry to set up a potential eagle putt. Qualchan also has one of the best practice facilities in the area with a grass range, a chipping green, practice bunkers, and large practice green. Green Fees: $33 weekdays, $36 weekends.
